1.        IISHF European Cups 2024 completed

All 6 IISHF European Cups 2024 have now been completed with 3 Title Events in Germany (U16, U19 and Women European Cup) and 3 Title Events in Switzerland (U13, Men Challenge Cup and Men European Cup).

Thank you very much to all the participating teams and the hosting clubs for a good number of international events in skaterhockey.

For 2025 it’s time now to consider which IISHF European Cups your country are willing to host. Please do not hesitate to contact us in order to make plans for the upcoming IISHF Title events in the coming years.

2.        IHC Malcantone from Switzerland won the IISHF Men Challenge Cup 2024

The common theme of this years events, where the group winners have gone on to the final continues... 

IH Sayaluca Lugano and IHC Malcantone both made the final undefeated.. at this point, someones 0 had to go. 

Both teams had a clear way through in their respective semi final games, making for an exciting final with a battle for swiss supremacy. 

It came down to who wanted it more... who had the determination to give the extra effort as this game made IISHF history with the first title event going into a penalty shootout with a final game score of 0 - 0. 

The final game, was end to end hockey, great hits, superb shots however equally matched by super goalies at both ends..  the noise from the crowd.. Super Goalie Super Goalie! 

Going into the shootout, only one team can win and someone had to score but who...  In the end it was IH Malcantone scoring 3 goals to Lugano's 1 bringing the game to a dramatic climax.

3.        IVA Rhein Main Patriots from Germany won the IISHF U13 European Cup 2024

This years IISHF Title Events have not dissapointed to say the least, with the closest group games in a long time, and the curse of the Quarter Final looming over the Vikings they summoned the power of the gods and sacrificed group A winners Berlin Buffalos.

Group winners Rhien Main Patriots took the Semi Final against host club Rossemaison to secure their spot. Having already played against and won against Vikings they came into the final confident of their ability to win. 

The game, fast and fierce, the atmosphere in Forum Biwi absolutely electic... the question.. who was going to win? With a back and forth exchange of pace, end to end action and goals galore... It eventually came down to how much the Vikings had in the tank.

As the second period came to a close Patriots edged forward, but a late last minute attempt from the vikings got them within one, but it was not enough in the end.

4.        SHC Rossemaison from Switzerland won the IISHF Men European Cup 2024

With the standard of this years Skater Hockey being nothing short of amazing, this tournament continued to thrill. 

With both Crash Eagles Kaarst and SHC Rossemaison topping their group and making their way directly into the semi finals, their opponents saw the return of the curse of the quarter final showing that being rested on the Sunday is the best route to the final. 

Kaarst saw off local rivals Crefelder SC with a close 3-2 win, whilst Rossemaison saw off SHC Buix with a 4 - 1 win. 

Onto the final, the stands packed to the rafters with a huge amount of support fot the host team and the atmosphere  full of excitement, the drums banging and the crowd cheering saw the Mustangs take a mid period lead. Eagles determined, fought back, but found themselves down 2 - 0 with just minutes to go in the first period and as frustations and tiredness set in, both teams started to find themselves sitting in the penalty box. 

As the second period emerged Kaarst came out with intent to level the score, however, just over 10 minutes into the second period Rossemaison struck a third time, and then very quickly again a fourth. The game almost certainly done at this point, but the Eagles show no sign of giving up. 

Later in the second period Rossemaison put the game to bed with a fith goal.

2.  The IISHF Presidium may sanction and/or suspend the membership of any National Member Association for important reasons and when the IISHF Constitution, IISHF Regulations or decisions by IISHF are violated flagrantly, or when the admission requirements are no longer fulfilled (currently Russia).

If not lifted by the IISHF Presidium in the meantime, such a suspension may remain in force until the next General Meeting (Council of Members). The Council of Members shall decide whether the suspension is lifted or prolonged, or the National Member Association expelled.

Summarized any NMA stays as IISHF member as long as they did not resign by themselves (with effect of the end of the year) or as long as they are not expelled by the Council of Members (AGM). Thus, any suspended member is still IISHF member and cannot be deleted from IISHF website.

The IISHF Presidium has decided the following:

1)  On the IISHF website we add behind each suspended NMA the comment "CURRENTLY SUSPENDED".

On the next AGM we apply to the NMAs to vote for to expel the four relevant countries from IISHF membership since non-payment is really inacceptable.
