Communication Letter 2022-07

The 7th CL of 2022 informs about a new IISHF Communication Officer, the composition of the IISHF Working Groups on 1) Female Skater Hockey Development and 2) Infrastructure Guideline on Skater Hockey Rinks, a call for further NMA Working Groups and most importantly a COVID update on 2022 IISHF Title Events.

1. IISHF Communication Officer

IISHF Presidium has decided to appoint Viola Lorenz from Germany as the new IISHF Communication Officer. In this position Viola is responsible for the development of communication materials as well as its timely distribution via the relevant IISHF communication channels. Viola has played skater hockey since 2009 for Bissendorfer Panther and Spreewölfe Berlin. Both clubs she has supported as a team manager. Most importantly for IISHF, she has worked for many years as press secretary (Bissendorf) and social media manager (Berlin).

2. IISHF Working Group for Female Skater Hockey Development

As mentioned in the IISHF Communication Letter 2022-05 published on 24.03.2022 the Working Group for Female Skaterhockey Development (reference point 9.5 IISHF Working Meeting AGM 2022) will now be established. The working group will be chaired by the IISHF Vice President André Poddubny. The members are the following all approved by their domestic Federation:

  • Austria: Tatjana Brunner and Nadine Walluschnig.
  • Denmark: Thomas Ask Wiatr.
  • Germany: Elisa Thoms and Christian Keller.
  • Great Britain: Steven Dickinson.
  • Switzerland: Cassandra Rensch.
  • Ukraine: Viola Lorenz.

3. IISHF Working Group for Infrastructure Guideline on Skater Hockey Rinks

As mentioned in the IISHF Communication Letter 2022-05 published on 24.03.2022 the Working Group for Infrastructure Guidelines on skaterhockey rinks (initiative from IISHF Vice President Poddubny) will now be established. The working group will be chaired by the IISHF Vice President André Poddubny. The members are the following all approved by their domestic Federation:

  • Denmark: Thomas Ask Wiatr.
  • Germany: Carsten Arndt and Christian Ciupka.
  • Great Britain: Steven Dickinson.

4. NMA Working Group

BISHA has taken the following initiative to establish an NMA Working Group. Steven Dickinson has written the following:

“Thank you for sharing the information following the IISHF AGM and WG meetings.

As mentioned at the meeting it seems clear that there is some interest and requirement to bring the NMAs closer together to discuss, agree, propose, and support development projects for our sport. I would be happy to build on some of the work by Andre in mobilisation/forming a working group which includes and all NMAs and met regularly throughout the year with your approval”.

5. COVID 19 updated information for IISHF Title Events 2022

Attached please find the updated COVID 19 information of current status from the countries hosting an IISHF Title Events 2022 replacing the last published version in the IISHF Communication Letter 2022-05 on 24.03.2022. Please be aware that due to domestic modifications the regulations have to be updated from time to time.
