CL 2023-03 provides current information about the IISHF U19 and Men European Championships 2023, a replacement of a team in the Men European Cup 2023 as well as a security update regarding the AGM in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2 weeks.
1. IISHF Men European Cup 2023 – Crefelder SC from Germany replacement team.
Telbin Riders from Ukraine has informed IISHF that they unfortunately have to cancel their participation at the IISHF Men European Cup taking place on 23-25.06.2023 in Kaarst, Germany.
IISHF has now nominated the first backup team Crefelder SC from Germany as the replacement
team which has been accepted by the team and approved by the German Federation. Attached please find updated listing for the IISHF European Cups 2023.
2. IISHF Men European Championship 2023 – final deadline.
The IISHF Men European Championships 2023 is scheduled to take place on 16-19 November 2023 in Givisiez, Switzerland. We have currently 3 Men National Teams from Germany, Great Britain and Switzerland that has confirmed their participation however for this Title Event the minimum requirement is 4 teams. The IISHF Presidium can accept a confirmation after the regular 3-weeks- deadline (incl. an additional fee in accordance to article §9.1 IISHF Regulations) until 15.02 of the relevant year – after 15.02 acceptance by IISHF Presidium can only be given with approval of the host.
3. IISHF U19 European Championship 2023.
The IISHF U19 European Championships 2023 will take place on 1-3 September 2023 in Amstetten, Austria. We have currently 4 U19 National Teams from Austria, Germany, Great Britain and Switzerland that has confirmed their participation meeting the minimum requirement of 4 teams. The IISHF Presidium can for the Title Event just like mentioned for the IISHF Men Eurupean Championships accept a confirmation after the regular 3-weeks-deadline (incl. an additional fee in accordance to article §9.1 IISHF Regulations) until 15.02 of the relevant year – after 15.02 acceptance by IISHF Presidium can only be given with approval of host.
4. IISHF AGM 2023 – current situation in Israel.
There has been unrest in some parts of Israel in recent weeks. As a precaution, we have checked the current situation with the Foreign Office in some countries and especially with the hosting NMA (Eli Abramovich).
As a result, it was told to us that there are currently no dangerous circumstances and no travel warnings in Tel Aviv and in the immediate vicinity of Tel Aviv. We will continue to review the situation regularly, but we do not see any reason for any concern to come to the IISHF AGM 2023 in Tel Aviv taking place on 25-26 February 2023.
