IISHF Communication Letter 2021-11

1. Women European Cup 2021 participating teams - call for extra team

Based on the feedback for the IISHF Women European Cup 2021 now rescheduled to 13-15 August 2021 in Berlin (Germany) we have now 9 teams ready to participate.

Of the the original 8 teams all 8 teams have reconfirmed their participation and in addition one extra teams Mad Dogs (HC Wiener Neustadt) from Austria has joint the Title Event. Attached please find the updated participating list.After consultation with the hosting club Spreewölfe Berlin IISHF has decided to extend the IISHF Women European Cup from 8 to 10 teams. The Title Event will then take place with either 9 or 10 teams. So any NMA willing to send a team for the vacant place should respond no later than 14 June 2021 (3 weeks deadline).Please note that as agreed on the Annual General Meeting 2021 and mentioned in the IISHF Communication Letter 2021-07 as of 8 April 2021 the deadline for latest decision if Title Events scheduled in 2021 will officially and finally take place is for tournaments in August/September to be decided latest by 30 June.The teams not part of the originally selected teams IISHF will not be invoiced (via their NMA) for their participation until the Title Event has been officially and finally confirmed. No team should book any travel and/or accommodation before the Title Event has been finally officially confirmed. This handling is necessary due to the uncertainty of the current stage of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the expected development in Berlin, Germany in the next months.

2. U13 European Cup 2021 participating teams - call for more teams

Based on the feedback for the IISHF U13 European Cup 2021 now rescheduled to 10-12 September 2021 in Krefeld (Germany) we have now 7 teams ready to participate. Of the the original 10 teams a total of 6 teams have reconfirmed their participation and in addition one extra teams Vienna Rockets from Austria has joint the Title Event. Attached please find the updated participating list.The Title Event can not take place with just 7 teams from 4 countries (Austria, Germany, Great Britain and Switzerland). The minimum number of teams are 8 teams from a minimum of 3 countries but IISHF will prefere to have 10 teams for this event. 3. U19 European Cup 2021 participating teams - call for more teams and countries

Based on the feedback for the IISHF U19 European Cup 2021 now rescheduled to 19-21 November 2021 in Rossemaison (Switzerland) we have now 7 teams from only 2 countries (Germany and Switzerland) ready to participate. Of the original 10 teams a total of just 7 teams have reconfirmed their participation. Attached please find the updated participating list. The minimum number of teams are 8 teams from a minimum of 3 countries. So any NMA willing to send a team for the vacant places should respond no later than 14 June 2021 (3 weeks deadline). If there are not 3 participating countries for the U19 European Cup 2021 then the this Title Event will not take place.Please note that as agreed on the Annual General Meeting 2021 and mentioned in the IISHF Communication Letter 2021-07 as of 8 April 2021 the deadline for latest decision if Title Events scheduled in 2021 will officially and finally take place is for tournaments in November to be decided latest by 30 August.The teams not part of the originally selected teams IISHF will not be invoiced (via their NMA) for their participation until the Title Event has been officially and finally confirmed. 4. Women Nations Cup - Austrian initiative

The President for the Austrian Federation (ISHA) has taken the following initiative in order to promote more international activities for the women skaterhockey. Michael Leitl has send the following call for action:?We will start with our women national team this season. We have already done our homework and now we are looking for competitions in summer and autumn. It would be nice when we can find more place for the women's in IISHF. If someone is intrested, please contact me. I'm sure we can find a way. I've u like, I find space in Salzburg to host a competition with maximum 4-6 Teams?.IISHF welcomes the Austrian initiative. A Women Nations Cup will not be an official Women European Championship so it can take place as an IISHF B-Event (Non Title Event) in 2021 and/or 2022. 5. IISHF Marketing Director - Appointed

The IISHF Presidium is excited to announce the appointment of Jacqualene Humphries as Marketing Director. Jacky has more than 20 years? experience in Global Marketing, Brand, Media, Corporate Communications, and Business Development across various industries specialising in Africa, Middle East, South East Asia and Europe. She has held various senior marketing roles at Motorola, including Head of Marketing Strategy & Operations. She has also worked for Oracle in Africa and led to success various renowned projects in Dubai, e.g. The Palms.Throughout her career, Jacky has led integrated sales & marketing efforts from brand - to demand - to sales, using a combination of traditional, digital and social media tools and methodologies to engage customers and partners on their purchase journey. Being a recognized "Woman in Business" and an entrepreneur, she has been invited to serve on numerous global marketing boards and was recently nominated as Africa?s Most Influential Woman in Business & Government.Jacky, who was an ice figure skater for almost 2 decades, agreed to help IISHF translating an ever-growing set of data points and marketing inputs into a coherent organizational development strategy and a vision for the development of our beloved sport.
