2. Women European Cup 2019

With the IISHF Communication Letter 2018-23 (as of 26 October 2018) IISHF had set a deadline of 15 November 2018 to apply for the hosting of the remaining open IISHF Title Events 2019.

The IISHF Presidium has now checked the received application and is glad to officially announce as planned latest 1 December 2018 one more IISHF Title Event 2019:
- Women European Cup hosted by Gentofte Rollerskating Club in Gentofte (Denmark) on 24-25 August 2019. This event is scheduled for 8 teams as a 2 day event for games Saturday and Sunday. However please note that the Managers Meeting will take place Friday late afternoon/evening and this is mandatory for all teams. Practice sessions available Friday afternoon/evening and it's possible for teams to play games Friday evening on an optional basis (not mandatory).

IISHF will as previously mentioned inform all teams participating about the exact time for the Opening Ceremony and Managers Meeting after the official announcement of the IISHF Title Events 2019 according to §18.3 IISHF Regulations when the participating club teams have to officially confirm their participation in the European Cups and according to §18.11 IISHF Regulations when the participating National teams have to officially confirm their participation in the European Championships.

3. U19 European Championships - Austrian proposal

IISHF has received a request from the Austrian Federation within the official deadline of November 15, 2018 about their intention of hosting the U19 European Championships including some conditions which we need the NMA/NGB's to respond to.

The Austrian proposal as presented to the IISHF Presidium on 15th November 2018 is then the following: Austria is still looking for a possibility to host the U19 championship. As of 15th November, 2018 it is clear for Austria that it can't host in the normal time frame between September and November (both moths included) therefore they ask for two adjustments to the current IISHF Regulations.

a) In order to make the overall event more attractive the Austrian Federation request to host an U16 Nations cup at the same time, given that enough teams are willing to participate. IISHF will define this as minimum 4 teams. An U16 Nations Cup will be regarded as an IISHF Non-Title Event (B-tournament).
b) As Ternitz is the only remaining possible host the Austrian Federation require the event to take place on a weekend during the Summer holidays. This is the only time where the hall in Ternitz can be used for skaterhockey. The Austrian Federaion doesn't know yet what weekend this will be but in accordance with the current calendar they propose the following two options:
Option 1: 12-14 July 2019.
Option 2: 30 August - 1 September 2019.

According to the IISHF Regulations §18.14 the following applies:

An European Championship can only take place with teams from a minimum of four (4) different nations. From these minimum 4 nations at least two nations had to be placed on place 1-4 at the previous European Championship. European Championships should take place September to November (both months included). Exception is only possible after permission given by the IISHF Presidium.
The IISHF Presidium has discussed the matter and in our opinion the combination of an U19 European Championships (IISHF Title Event = A-Tournament) with an U16 Nations Cup (IISHF Non Title Event = B-Tournament) is for us ok (and the use of Friday for games would then be an absolute precondition) but a date in the Summer holidays would be difficult for many countries.

So we need the feedback from the NMA/NGB's.

Deadline for reply from the NMA/NGB's latest Friday 23rd November 2018 in order for IISHF to have the option to discuss this matter with the NMA/NGB's taking part in the Men European Championships in Rossemaison, Switzerland.
